SAS Technology was established in 2023 in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and operates in strategic joint venture with SAS Automation Pvt. Ltd. – a leading Indian automation company and ABB-certified distributor recognised as ABB Best Channel Partner for three consecutive years.
We offer a complete portfolio of automation and control services designed for industrial reliability and lifecycle performance. Every service is delivered by certified engineers with hands-on experience across Middle East operating conditions.
Founded in 2023, SAS Technology entered the Saudi Arabian market with a clear competitive advantage a strategic joint venture with SAS Automation Pvt. Ltd., India, an established industrial automation company with 15+ years of experience and ABB Best Channel Partner recognition for three consecutive years. This JV gives SAS Technology clients in Saudi Arabia access to 80+ engineers and deep multi-brand automation expertise from day one, without waiting years for a new company to build that knowledge base locally.
Our first projects included automation work for NWC (National Water Company) in Taif, flare system automation for ZEECO, cold roll automation for Ushaimi Steel, and cooling tower automation for King Salman Maritime – establishing our track record in water utilities, oil and gas support, heavy industry, and maritime sectors within the first two years of operations.
Our automation solutions are deployed across critical industries where reliability, safety, and compliance are non-negotiable.
Most automation contractors in Saudi Arabia are tied to one or two brands. SAS Technology operates as a truly multi-brand integrator. Our engineers are trained and experienced in Siemens SIMATIC TIA Portal, ABB AC500 and Freelance, Schneider Electric Modicon and EcoStruxure, Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, and Copa-Data Zenon SCADA. This means we recommend the right platform for your application, not the one we happen to sell.
We hold practical competency in IEC 61850-compliant substation automation, one of the most technically demanding areas of industrial control. This includes GOOSE messaging implementation, protection relay integration, RTU configuration, and Copa-Data Zenon-based substation SCADA. Few system integrators in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain offer this depth in substation automation alongside their broader industrial automation services.
SAS Technology operates an in-house panel fabrication capability. Our LV panels, MCC panels, distribution boards, and custom control panels are manufactured in-house to IEC 61439 standards, with full documentation, type testing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT) available. This eliminates third-party dependencies, reduces lead times, and gives us direct quality control over every panel that leaves our shop.
We take single-point responsibility across the entire project lifecycle requirements analysis, engineering design, equipment procurement, panel manufacturing, on-site installation, loop checking, site acceptance testing (SAT), operator training, and post-commissioning support. Clients deal with one accountable team from day one to project handover and beyond.
8 resident engineers based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, backed by our JV partner SAS Automation’s 80+ engineer team in India giving clients unmatched technical depth with fast local response across KSA, Bahrain, and Oman.
We design automation systems with the future in mind. Our engineers implement MQTT-based cloud connectivity, OPC-UA data integration, predictive maintenance frameworks, energy management systems, and Smart Manufacturing KPI dashboards that align with Saudi Vision 2030’s industrial modernization agenda. Every new installation we design is Industry 4.0-ready by default.
SAS Technology works with the world’s leading industrial automation manufacturers. Our technology partnerships span:
We implement and support ABB AC500 PLCs, Inovance PLC and HMI systems, Schneider Electric Modicon M580 and M340, and Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley ControlLogix series. Our project delivery methodology is structured, documented, and repeatable across all project sizes. Every engagement follows a five-phase process:
We begin with a detailed site visit, process audit, and requirements workshop. Our engineers review existing P&IDs, one-line diagrams, control philosophies, and operational constraints before making any recommendations. This ensures our proposed solution maps precisely to actual operational needs.
Our engineering team produces a complete project design package including functional specification, system architecture diagrams, panel layout drawings (AutoCAD), control panel schematics, network topology diagrams, I/O list, and software design specifications. All documentation is reviewed and approved by the client before fabrication begins.
Panels are manufactured in our in-house fabrication facility. PLC and SCADA software development runs in parallel. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) is conducted at our facility before delivery — including full simulation of control sequences, alarm testing, network connectivity verification, and SCADA display sign-off.
Our field teams manage cable routing, instrument installation, panel termination, loop checking, and pre-commissioning independently of any main contractor. Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) is conducted with the client’s operations team to verify all control logic, interlocks, and SCADA functions against the approved design.
We provide structured operator and maintenance training covering SCADA operation, alarm management, routine maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting. Full as-built documentation is handed over at project completion. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) provide ongoing 24/7 remote support, planned maintenance visits, spare parts management, and system upgrade services.
